There have been a few radical events in my life that have left me unable to remember how I ever got on before. One is moving to the Czech Republic tweleve years ago. Another would be the first time I saw an image appear like magic in an infrared-lit darkroom at 15. It’s a bit meta, I know, this image I’ve got of a printed image developing before my eyes forever tattoo’d in my mind as part of my own development. It became that moment that seperated before and after. Two decades later, I’m still at it.

I crave connection. Connection to the things, places, people around me with my camera—transcending it all into something universally accessible. It’s the language that I speak. I often struggle to find the right words—words that communicate why I think this work is important. And I think it’s just people. Your people. My people. They are the things that matter most and I like to capture that. I find so much joy in transmuting it into something tangible—a manifestation of gratitude, a suspended moment in time, proof that you lived something profound.
